He also mentions that Japan has already adapted to its poor demographics by focusing on automation and outsourcing to ensure that other countries with better demographics have a vested interest in the success of Japanese companies. He concludes by saying that while this shift away from globalization may seem negative, it is simply the end of a chapter and the start of a new era where the rules have changed and the geography of success will look more like it did before 1940.
