Science, the scientific community, marxism

In the last few years we've seen too many people that say they like Marxism and science believe the scientific community & big pharma a bit too dogmatically and too faithfully.
This betrays both the scientific method and Marxism (which is itself a science).
Science and the scientific method are tools with which we analyse reality, make sense of reality as best as we can, we make predictions and we make prescriptions and it's a pretty good tool, it's the best that we have so far.
The scientific community, on the other hand, is an institution comprised people and we cannot pretend that these people are under no pressure. The scientific community IS under pressure: political pressure, financial pressure, peer pressure.
