We find the new Metabo HPT 18V Cordless One Handed Reciprocating Saw very interesting because it also takes Jigsaw blades and will reliably function as a jigsaw and recip saw. What makes this saw stand out is that there was nothing taken away from the new tools form or function as a one handed recip saw when they added the jigsaw blade acceptance. This is a one handed recip saw first and foremost, but the way these tools are designed, they function just as good as a jigsaw when needed. So interesting, at least to me.

Now this tool is not going to be used in fine woodworking like a barrel grip jigsaw, but in construction or as a pro-sumer tool, it will easily work back and forth without issue.

Metabo HPT is not given the credit needed with some of the tools they create. This is an 18-volt tool so it will accept hitachi or Metabo HPT slide on 18-volt batteries. It will also accept the 36-volt multivolt batteries. It will not take the 36 volt wall adapter.
