There is no doubt that the new Bosch X-Lock interface works. Wheel changes are fast, efficient and secure. We cannot argue that this is a serious upgrade from the current interface we all use. The question is will all the other manufacturers start to offer this?

In order for the Bosch Power Tool's X-Lock interface to live, it must become the new norm for all the manufacturers, not just Bosch. Aftermarket consumable makers must also see this as the only way to make new products. Premiums for this interface must remain small.

Will other companies license this from Bosch Power Tools? What strategy do they have in place for the X-Lock to take over?
