Denied at the Vietnam Border | My failed Laos / Vietnam border crossing!

We are leaving Laos though the Dansavan border that connects Vietnam and Laos. I had my eVisa in the process, ready to cross with the idea of getting a VOA instead.

Vietnam and Laos share a border that stretches for over 2,000 kilometers, with numerous crossing points for travelers. The most popular crossing point between the two countries is the Lao Bao International Border Gate, which connects the Vietnamese province of Quang Tri with the Laotian province of Savannakhet. This crossing point is open daily and can be accessed by road or by train.

Travelers will need to have a valid passport and visa to enter either country, and may be subject to immigration and customs checks. It is also recommended to have proper documentation for any vehicles or goods being transported.

Once crossing the border, travelers will have the opportunity to explore the different cultures and landscapes of Vietnam and Laos, including visiting the ancient city of Hue in Vietnam and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wat Phou in Laos.
