The Most Haunted Place In Ukraine 🇺🇦

Whilst back in Kyiv, I was on the search for some abandoned buildings but came across a short article about the most haunted place in Ukraine, which turned out to be this old Pagan ritual site that was part of Kyiv Fortress. It turns out that over 200 people were sentenced to death here at Lysa Hora and many others have taken their own lives.

Now it seems that it's just a wooded area, like a public park, with strange tunnels that pass underneath some of the mound. The first tunnel I found had either collapsed or been blocked off manually. This one was a bit eerie.

I never saw or heard anything supernatural, even when at the Pagan ritual site, that I believe has been made recently for tourists or just for people from Kyiv to visit. I'd say that when the witches and Pagans came to Lysa Hora to do their rituals, they probably did it somewhere else on this hill, called the bald mountain.

Lysa Hora was also home to a Garrison Prison, which housed soldiers who were dishonourably discharged from the army.

I walked around Lysa Hora for a few hours, getting the steps in, exploring, going off track and in the end I didn't find anything scarier than I'd find back home in the local woods.

Apparently locals don't visit Lysa Hora as it's supposed to mess with your psyche, which I'll call BS on. Nothing happened to me, nothing strange. I saw a few people on bikes, a couple of guys chilling, a couple of ladies chilling and a couple of kids playing in the trees. There were very few strange noises and I'd put any strange noises down to just being stuff falling from trees or animals.

I did find a snake on the path though which was not something I thought I'd see at Lysa Hora.
