The Italian mountains provide a beautiful backdrop for this airborne operation involving a parachute jump.

Sky Soldiers assigned to the US' 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade were also taking advantage of the great weather, carrying out airborne operations at the Juliet and Frida Drop Zones in Pordenone, Italy.

The paratroopers used a C-130 Hercules for their jumps.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the Army's contingency response force in Europe, capable of projecting ready forces anywhere in the U.S. European, Africa or Central Commands' areas of responsibility.
