Jimmie Snow interview on In Your Corner

Born in 1936 to country star Hank Snow and his wife Minnie, Jimmie Rodgers Snow appeared to have everything going his way. With famous friends like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly, Jimmie began to rocket his way to stardom on the RCA label.

But Jimmie soon learned that there was something that wealth and fame could not provide lasting peace. In front of his parent's house, Jimmie Rodgers Snow committed his life to Christ and soon answered the call to preach.

One of his early sermons was recently featured in a PBS documentary about Rock and Roll. The show featured a clip that is on display at the rock and roll hall of fame of an early sermon by Jimmie Snow denouncing the evils of Rock and Roll.

For over 30 years, Jimmie pastored Nashville's, Evangel Temple. The Nashville church became a familiar place of worship for many country stars.

From Johnny Cash to Kris Kristopherson, artists like Connie Smith and the father of Bluegrass, Bill Monroe, would make their way to the church of country music stars.

Although many stars have come and gone, for almost a quarter of a century Jimmie Snow was the host of Grand Ole Gospel Time at the Grand Ole Opry. Each Friday night Pastor Snow would host the show and invite a country music guest to sing on his show. Thousands came to know Christ through Grand Ole Gospel. Pastor Snow & The Evangel Temple Choir became a long-lasting tradition on the Friday night opry.

In 2000 Jimmie finally returned to the recording studios with Nashville producer Ronnie Light, who produced Hank's hit "Hello Love", to record a gospel album with various styles.

Jimmie Snow's father Hank Snow passed away in December 1999, and his mom Minnie died in 2003. In August of 2006, Jimmie resigned from his church to return to the road, preaching and singing
