TRI 1/27/2023 - Why modern stories suck...it's the writing (and the writer's delusions)

Why does modern writing suck? I see it as rooted in a fundamentally false view of reality. By embracing equity (equality of outcome) and subjective truth (everyone has ‘their’ truth) modern storytelling fails to resonate with audiences because modern stories are false and flawed.

When audiences and critics point out these flaws the creators perceive these criticisms as attempts to invalidate the writer’s worldview, in other words an attack on ‘truth’ as the writer sees it; and the natural response to someone attacking your truth is to see the attacker as evil. Hence, the modern phenomenon that if audiences don’t like a movie or tv show, the audience must be evil.
