Madonna has a new spread and interview in Vanity Fair Italia, in which she poses as the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ. Even though we have come to expect her shock factor, this latest display is a mockery of Christianity and creates a new level of overt idolatry.

The Vanity Fair interview panders to Madonna’s alternating pronouns, which further speaks to the clown-like person she has embodied. Everything about the hedonism of this photoshoot and interview is an immersion in darkness, in false prophecy, and of idolatry. This is no different from the golden calf in the time of Moses.
