Political correctness is a choke-hold on our societal ability to communicate

Talking about problems is how a society moves forward. When people start to believe that some forms of free speech shouldn't be allowed, negative consequences follow. A culture that attempts to stigmatize the expression of controversial ideas is problematic to say the least. Yet the solution is not to limit the speech of the politically correct. That would be hypocritical. We must fight a battle of ideas and have the side that wants to hear all ideas (including the ones we hate the most) expressed. Not without judgement, but without a culture that tries to suppress the expression of ideas that are unpopular. And if you don't agree with that then remember, one day your ideas could be the unpopular ones. Without a legal and SOCIETAL system in place to protect their expression, the freedom you take for granted can be taken, twisted, and transformed in order to fit the agenda of ANY power that takes the place of the first amendment.
