Going into Crowns and Stems while watering orchids during the winter and cold temperatures to boot, is not a good idea. Today I am taking you around the patio while I spray the orchids that have not had water for the past 2 days, because there was not a warm pocket to be found on the patio while it was overcast. I did not put all my orchids outside on this day either, because it never got warm enough for the majority of my collection. A cool breeze was also present, but at least it was sunny, so I took a calculated risk at watering orchids, including crowns and stems, hoping that the sunshine and the breeze will come through for me and that the orchids will be dry before I bring them in.
