Facebook is draining your battery on purpose & here’s all about it.
Data scientist George Hayward was fired for refusing to participate in “negative testing” which allows tech companies to secretly run down the battery on someone’s phone.
He argued that draining phone batteries puts people at risk, but his lawsuit was withdrawn due to Meta's employment terms.
His lawyer calls the practice illegal and enraging.

A document titled "How to run thoughtful negative tests" was handed to Hayward, leading him to believe Facebook had used this sort of testing before.
