There is one problem when it comes to forgiveness; our own hearts condemn us. We are never able to forgive ourselves. The good news is, there is nothing in scripture that tells us to forgive ourselves.

Instead, we are told that when God forgives us; we believe Him. We choose to believe Him instead of believing what our own hearts say to us.
