Competitive School Boards

The government’s interest in an educated citizenry does not require high government control. Indeed, most government involvement is riddled with negative externalities related to attaining an educated citizenry. Child education neglect laws, charitable efforts, long-term loans, new business models, and free enterprise efficiency can handle education from infants through doctorate degrees.
The increased rate of taxes needed for government education increases the disincentives of engaging in the business activity that is taxed.
