February 1, 2023 - "The Complexities of Suffering" - Lamentations 3-5

Lamentations is a book of five poems written by Jeremiah as he witnesses the 18-month-long military siege by the Babylonians. The famine, death, and destruction was horrifying! It all could have been avoided if the Israelites had only stopped sinning and started obeying the Lord. But note, not all of our suffering is a result of our disobedience. Suffering is a complex subject that this book may bring comfort to as Jeremiah finds hope and light in the midst of his despair.
