I found a mystery fossil skull washed up on a remote beach in New Zealand - there was bone showing!

I was on a road trip in New Zealand and stopped along the road to have a look at a cool beach. A few minutes later I stumbled across what I thought was a piece of petrified wood but, on closer inspection, had some bone sticking out of it.

My initial thoughts were that it was a dolphin or whale skull but someone recognised it on Instagram and said it was a bill fish skull!
