- Interesting that "TYR-E" was the capital of the Phoenician Empire - the nobles of which fled to Rome and then established the city of Venice. Venetian = Phoenician. In linguistics P/B/V are all interchangeable. It is also quite probable that "Tyre" was the "Troy" of myth . . . there were no vowels in the Phoenician written script, so it is indeed very possible that someone could easily flip the two letters. Romulus & Remus could have been Trojan/Tyrian nobility. Couple that with the fact that the Grecian name for the Etruscans (the native inhabitants of the area now called "Rome") was "Tyrsennians" and it becomes even more compelling. The Rg Veda sheds even more light on this: the Pani tribe (pronounced "Pun-ee", similar to "Punic", as in the Punic Empire: ruled by the Phoenicians) were driven out of Sri Lanka and travelled by way of the Red Sea to the Levant.
