Tackling Food Insecurity In Canada with Barbe Dunn and Jim & Jacintha Collins

Canadians' food insecurity is at a high, and many families have been grappling with rising food prices these past years.

The Canadian Food Price Report for 2023 estimates that a family of 4 can expect an increase of $1,065 on their grocery bill for the same food in 2022. This is on top of the $1000 increase a family of 4 experienced in 2022.

47% of Canadians say they are now purchasing cheaper alternatives, and Food Banks Canada reported nearly 1.5 million visits across our nation in 2022.

5.8 million Canadians lived in food-insecure households in 2021 as well.
