Monday Legends: Stephen Decatur.

SPH presents Monday Legends: Stephen Decatur. Commodore Decatur was legendary during the Quasi War with France, Barbary Wars, and War of 1812. Gone too soon when he was killed in a duel with CPT Barron in 1820. He was basically the first Navy Seal when he led a raid to burn the captured USS Philadelphia to prevent the Barbary pirates from using her. (Side note the Philadelphia was first commanded by Stephen Decatur Sr.) This is why Stephen Decatur Jr. is a legend and should be more well known.
