23.01 South Texas Rut activity, the first week of January

The south Texas rut doesn't really kick in until the week of, or after Christmas. So I saw a bunch of bucks I'd never seen before. Most are 2 year olds. But there is a good bit of potential. So hopefully they survive the next 2 weeks when the regular gun season ends. Maybe I will see them again.....

A crackerjack is many things.

It was also my dress uniform when I was in the Navy. It was also what we called out on the radio in the engine room of my ship to indicate an officer had entered the engine room. It was a snack when I was growing up, like caramel popcorn. And Jack was the name of someone I highly respected growing up.
