WATCH: Joy4Africa Delivers Alternative Power to Chris Hani Settlement

South Africa - Pretoria- Alternative power in informal settlement . 06 February 2023. While South Africa is enduring the heart of loadshedding and promises are being made left , right and centre a small organization, Joy4Africa is delivering Alternative power to Chris Hani section of an informal settlement at Olievenhoutbosch . A 40watt day light in the shape of an 2l plastic cool drink bottle filled with water and a few ml of Jik does the trick. The first few are provided for in the form of a recycled plastic tile to fit the corigated roof sheets with a round hole the size of a bottle. Future sales of these tiles are left in the hands of the community to develop small business and installation will extend business opportunities even further.
