US official: ‘China continually undermines a rules based international order’ | DW News

John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, met DW correspondent Carolina Chimoy for a talk about what kind of impact the spy balloon could have on US-Chinese relations.
And Kirby is not surprised “the Chinese are routinely flouting what should be the rules based international order.”
Still, Kirby says the US hopes to get diplomacy back on track and that Peking will condemn Russia’s war in Ukraine “and make it clear to Mr. Putin that what he's doing is unacceptable.”
