European Goldfinch

The European goldfinch, which is also called the Eurasian goldfinch, is a small bird that belongs to the goldfinch family. The European goldfinch can be easily recognized by the red face mask of both males and females that extends behind the eyes. The European goldfinch was introduced to Australia in 19th century, and is one of only two true goldfinches in Australia (the other being the green goldfinch).
