SCS EPISODE 94 - MIND THE GAP

This week I only cover one office under DHSC, which is the National Information Board.

Whilst it is now defunct, it holds a timeline that is parallel to the Accelerated Access Review body, that was, in essence, the birth of 'Warp Speed', and whereby this office created a plan for digital transformation of the healthcare sector by 2020. Rather telling how these things were planned, and simply awaiting an 'event'.

There is an unaccounted for £4.2 billion taxpayer bill associated with this, which will require Government response, and there is a highly authoritarian hint of things that were to come, in the delineation of a 'Single Source of Truth'.

The documentation that goes along with this included their version of a 'Plan' and a set of 'Road Mapping' documents, where unsurprisingly the Wellcome Trust appear again, but rather than concentrate on that, I simply look at the output and how amateurish it is.

As part of the audit and recreation of the Hoskyns Government Wiring Map is what I am doing here, and how processes and project management plays a role in performing this task, I then go into some of the areas of explanation as to how this should be performed, and critically where they are missing risks in a sector that poses the most immediate risk, through this wider plan to remove barriers to experimenting on the public.
