20230211 Exercise and Keeping an Even Keel (Rec. 20220825)

I've spoken at length about my reasons for getting back into shape. In August last year I was in a bit of a bad patch. It was bad enough that in earlier times, when I wasn't exercising so much, the rough patch might have derailed me.

Even going through this bad patch, I maintained a more even keel, and things just kept going along alright.

Exercise is an excellent mood enhancer, and is actually prescribed as a treatment for mild clinical depression.

As I reflect on my life, I note the times that I did better were the times I was exercising hard. To the point that I consider exercise my way of self medicating.

By August I had been exercising daily for months, and this regular exercise helped me through the milder bumps in the road of life.
