Governor Gretchen #Whitmer, along with House Speaker Joe Tate and Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, has proposed to issue $180 checks to each #Michigan tax filer from the state's record budget surplus, with a total cost of $800 million. The checks are part of a broader #inflationrelief plan that includes tax cuts and credits for retirees and low- and moderate-income workers, and will be issued as soon as this spring or early summer.
