This week, as the midterm election approaches us, I spoke with math professor Adam Becker about statistics - how to understand them, how they can be misunderstood, and how they can be used to manipulate. He shares some tips to make sure you aren't being manipulated by studies and polls, and talks about how often the media gets it wrong when it comes to talking about outcomes of studies and polls. We also talk about whether Stats, rather than Calc, should sit at the top of the math pyramid when it comes to education for the everyday person.
