Top Legal Behavior Threat Detection Gear
Behavior Threat Detection is effective and in my opinion every church security ministry should receive training in BTD. However, there are some legal issues that should be considered anytime a private citizen (security ministry) engages, converses with, or detains a person of interest.
Engagement should be friendly and inviting, like a greeter’s interaction with a visitor.
The person should agree to have the conversation, and if the security ministry’s engagement is inviting, most people will consent to the conversation by stopping and providing a voluntary response.
If the security ministry finds it difficult to initiate and maintain a conversation with an individual, the individual walks away or disengages, and there’s concern, document the incident on some type of field engagement form.
