Pixar’s Lightyear flopped upon release, both domestically, and internationally. That then leaves the question, why did the audience suddenly abandon a beloved franchise where each of the two previous installments both crossed a billion at the boxoffice?

The real answer to that question is so painful and induces so much cognitive dissonance that Hollywood simply don’t want to hear it.
