Spider-Man No Way Home is a certified monster hit, already having crossed the billion dollar threshold at the worldwide boxoffice. The movie is notable for being all about sheer entertainment, giving the audience what they wanted, and for not forcing any kind of ideopolitical messaging.
Will Hollywoodlearn that this is the way to go? Nope, not if Forbes’ Scott Mendelson’s boxoffice breakdown is anything to go by. He found a way use Spider-Man’s boxoffice to prop up Marvel’s Shang-Chi and Star Wars The Last Jedi.
