FM mode on CB Radio? Yes, But Don't Worry!

So many people have asked me what I think og the FCC decision to add FM mode to CB radio.
Well, I really just don't see it as a threat or a bonus. With all the existing radios on the market already I find it hard to imagine that there will be some huge sudden shift to FM. In fact, I'd bet that adoption of using FM modes on CB radio will be small and sporatic at best. There just isn't a ton of intrest in the hobby to start with and for most the reason we mess around with these radios is to shoot skip. FM mode isn't known for Skip shooting and so you'll likely not see a rush to adopt this new mode.
I've been wrong before, but I doubt I'll be wrong about this one. I guess time will tell!
