Footage of Colonel George Kurubo and Mr. Victor Adegoroye being handed their diplomatic credentials by Major General Yakubu Gowon, the Head of State of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria.

Colonel Kurubo was made the Ambassador to the Soviet Union, while Mr. Adegoroye was made the High Commissioner to Ghana, as well as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Togo.

Kurubo was born in Bonny, a city in the former eastern Region which had seceded from Nigeria to become the State of Biafra. He was initially a part of the Biafran state until his defection to Nigeria. He was Nigeria's first indigenous Air Force Chief and served as a member of the Supreme Military Council led by Major General J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi.

Adegoroye had been the permanent Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs.
