Shake hand puppy training is a great way to bond with your pup and help them learn important commands. To get started, have your pup sit in front of you while you hold out your closed fist. When they jump up or paw at you, gently tell them “no” and put them back in the sitting position. Once they understand what you’re trying to teach them, give them lots of praise whenever they put their paw in your hand. This helps reinforce that positive behavior so that eventually when you say “shake” your pup will do it automatically! Besides this basic command, there are plenty of other ways to train your dog - from clicker training to agility courses - but shake hands is a simple and effective place to begin!
