Endless Engine Challenge #2 .... where I am and what I’m learning (that could be useful to you)

I am in the process of creating my entry to the Endless Engines challenge in Cinema 4d. I'm going to show where I am....it doesn't look like I've advanced all that much but I learned a lot and will share it with you so you can not spend time going down the wrong rabbit holes. In particular I am going to talk about what seems to work and what doesn’t and discuss a plugin I tried that can save some modeling time but doesn’t seem applicable to this use case.
