Indigenous in plain sight

"Indigenous in plain sight" refers to the presence of Indigenous peoples and their cultural practices and knowledge within modern society, often hidden or overlooked. Indigenous peoples have inhabited the land for thousands of years, and their knowledge and traditions have contributed to many aspects of contemporary life, such as agriculture, medicine, language, and cultural practices.

Despite this, Indigenous peoples have often been marginalized and discriminated against, and their contributions have been erased or ignored. For example, many Indigenous languages have been lost or endangered due to colonization and forced assimilation policies. Indigenous knowledge and practices have also been co-opted and appropriated by non-Indigenous peoples, without proper recognition or compensation.
