Cleaning Carburetor On Old Snapper Riding Lawn Mower

I removed and cleaned out the carburetor on my old Snapper riding lawn mower to see if I can get it running again. I bought this for $20 in New York and brought it back with me.

I knew it had not run in years but I had no idea what the condition of the engine was internally at the time.

I pulled the carburetor off the engine of my Snapper riding lawn mower and took it to my "work bench" which was a piece of cardboard on the ground. This was the most comfortable place for me to work at the time.

I was right next to the garden tractor so I did not have to move tools or parts around much.

I took apart the carburetor and fully cleaned it inside and out. I used carburetor cleaner and then an air compressor to blow out any dirt or particles in the carb.

Then I put it all back together and put the carburetor on the old pull start 6 HP Tecumseh engine.

I gave it a few pulls and it started up. It sputtered a lot though and blew some smoke.

I think this is an oil burner but it could just be garbage in the engine. I put some seafoam in the gas and ran it a while.
