All Kinds Of Wildlife On The Homestead & Death At Night

There is a lot of wildlife out here on the homestead. I went out to show you some animal tracks and end up seeing wildlife on as well.

At night there is a lot of action out here. There is a skunk that tries to get into the chicken coop every night. He also tears things up around the house every night. The noises keep me awake a lot. So far I have not been able to get rid of him.

There are three coyote dens nearby. Two are just across the road from us although I have not yet seen them myself. We can hear them in the evening hours when they first come out. And a neighbor found one of the dens while walking a little dog.

Last night a bear was walking right along our property edge, behind the house. You can clearly see the tracks. I have seen blueberry filled droppings from the bear all over the place as well. It must live right here because I see a lot of prints from it.

There are also a lot of deer running through our land. But it appears that we have one less after last night. There are scuff marks across the road mixed in with deer and bear tracks.

I saw two female turkeys with their young crossing the road into our land on the way to show the bear tracks.

Back at the house I found a snake slithering across the land.

We have a lot of wild animals here on our new homestead. Most of it is good news for us. We hope to hunt and provide our own meat this year.
