New Wood Stove Takes Us More Off The Grid

We went on a road trip to get our new (used) wood stove. It was nearly a full day round trip but it was worth the time at only $40 for a catalytic wood stove which burns cleanly.

We got hundreds of dollars in accessories as well. The stove came with new door glass, two blowers, stove pipes and a brand new catalytic burner.

This thing is very heavy though and took three guys to move it off the truck.

I will replace the gaskets and bolts all around the stove. I will scrape off the rust and loose particles and then paint the stove. It will look like new when I am done with it.

We will do a test burn outside to cure the paint and try it out before moving it into the house.

This wood stove takes us even further off the grid. The only thing that now uses any power is the water pump. We hope to cover that as well soon.
