After entering the Tower of Babel in the underground on a mission to take back the crystals, as well as fighting a new mandatory story boss at the entrance, Cecil and crew meet the last of the four fiends as well as Golbez's chief strategist, the mad scientist Dr. Lugae! In his last breaths, Dr. Lugae orders the tower's cannons to fire on the dwarven tanks attacking it! Bit Yang sacrifices himself to stop the attack. Soon after another sacrifice takes place as Cid sacrifices himself to seal the entrance to the Underworld after our heroes escape. Afterwards, they head back to Baron where Cid's apprentices attach a hook to the Enterprise allowing it to carry the hovercraft to the Cave of Eblan where the entrance to the overworld half of the Tower of Babel lies.
