Off Grid Homesteading With Melanie & Troy

It was a busy day at the off grid homestead today. I am making cheddar cheese and rebuilding engines. Melanie is beautifying the property. And Chris is working with fire wood.

In the morning I received my cheese wax. Now I can finish my cheddar cheese and put it away to age for at least four weeks. I made my first ever batch of cheddar cheese and I will upload the video soon.

Melanie is cleaning up the front of the off grid tiny house on wheels. She loves to use the antique push mower to keep the grass in front of the house cut neatly. We cannot use the power mower due to the risk of throwing a stone into the solar panels.

I spent most of the day working on an old Briggs & Stratton 11 hp gas engine which is going onto the antique log splitter. I have been using a 3 hp Predator engine from Harbor Freight for two years but now its time to upgrade to some serious power.

I bought this Briggs gas engine at a garage sale last year for $50 to use on the log splitter but never got around to it yet.

Now is the time. Especially since we have so much fire wood to split this year.

We received a package from Mother Of Many Horses on YouTube. This is a beautiful work of art. This is a hand made and very detailed table cloth. MOMH tells us that this is called the pineapple stitch. This is really a work of love. These things take a long time to make. Thank you so much!!!

Another package arrived from a YouTuber named Devin. This box contained a whole mess of things for both Melanie and myself. It is a wedding gift for us. This box was loaded with treasures that had us both excited. Thank you very much!!!
