SMA vs EMA - Teaching My Nephew to Trade

Using simple moving averages and exponential moving averages are critical for any trader. In this training we cover the difference between a SMA vs EMA. We don't get deep into the weeds it really is about the high level concept of the difference.

We also discuss that both of these indicators are lagging indicators. Often you'll hear this as a negative but I believe this is a strength of these indicators, just most are taught how to use that strength. Another important concept we cover is these indicators continue to paint as the chart moves forward. So trading that use these indicators don't often take this into account.
