Playing With Mother Nature...Is it Really a Good Thing??

Last week, the USDA Economic Research Service (ERS) released its latest “Farm Sector Income & Finances” report with updated estimates for 2022 and a 2023 forecast.

The key takeaway was that farm income held a record high net cash value of $189.8 billion in 2022. Looking ahead to 2023, it is estimated that net income will decrease to $150.5 billion, down 20.7% relative to 2022. This is expected to be driven by lower revenue which is predicted to decline by 4.3% in aggregate.
