The mental impact of social media on adolescence was discussed at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on internet safety for children and online privacy threats. Topics included proposed age limits and other regulations for social media, child data usage, online drugs and sex trafficking, and eliminating Section 230, a provision of the Communications Decency Act which allows social media companies to avoid liability for shared content online.
