Solfeggio frequencies are a set of frequencies that were used in ancient times for spiritual chants2 and are now used for meditation and healing3. They are derived from a numerological system of family number groups1 and are said to have various effects on the mind and body3,4,5. However, they are also a crank concept in sound healing that hijacks and misapplies terminology from the solfège music-education method1. There are six main solfeggio frequencies (396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852 Hz) and three additional tones (174, 285, 963 Hz)5.
