WHEN NEED TURNS INTO GREED

When is enough enough? It matters who is asking the question. If a five-year-old wants more cookies and ice cream, they won't stop until they get sick. But a person of maturity understands the effect on health and well-being, and if you eat too many sweets.
SO WHO ANSWERS THE QUESTION? WHEN IS IT ENOUGH?
The Scriptures speak much of the effects of greed and covetousness. Whether it be our neighbors, wife, or our neighbors, Gold that we covet it is still against God's law. Does that mean that God is a god of poverty and work? No, of course not.
The rules God has established for us as humans are for our benefit, not to punish or give us a life of neglect. We are spirit beings, first of all. Because of that, everything we do in this body eventually affects our spirit somehow.
When God said he would supply all of our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus, he didn't mean our greed. Our spirit man recognizes what we need our body does not. Our body says sure; I'll take another piece of apple pie and put some ice cream on it. Yet, if we were listening closely to our spirit, we would hear a still, small voice saying that's enough; you don't need that extra piece of the pie.
And so it goes with the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the toys we play with, we pray, Lord, give me two of everything.
When does need turn into greed?
Ask your spirit man; they'll tell you because Jesus is the only thing that satisfies spirit, soul, and body.
No wonder the Scriptures tell us that if we seek the Lord first, everything else will be added but take note at this point, the spirit is in control of the additions.
