Grand Jury Leaker: What it Means for Case Against Trump

As the old adage goes, “Loose lips sink ships.” Maybe it’s time to get that back into the current lexicon, because the indelicate grand jury forewoman in the Georgia grand jury probe into former President Donald Trump may have just torpedoed the entire proceeding.
Emily Kohrs, the 30-year-old forewoman of the Georgia grand jury tasked with determining if criminal activity took place during the 2020 presidential election, went on a media tour, and treated it more like an audition for American Idol. Kohrs acted giddy and silly as she discussed deliberations over indictments on major news programs, in diametric opposition to the oath she took to protect the secrecy of the proceedings and uphold the integrity of the federal legal system.
She literally said she would be sad if certain individuals are not indicted. That’s exactly what the oath she took told her NOT to do. Watch for yourself, and you’ll likely be infuriated. Kohrs appeared jovial, even coy, and at times grinning and mugging for the camera, as if sharing some inside joke with the journalists.
Kohrs reportedly sketched portraits of witnesses as they were deposed, including writing some of their names, and shared them with others, including a former Georgia state attorney who Kohrs claims complimented her artistic talents. Her behavior is reprehensible. Even the traditionally anti-Trump mainstream media is flummoxed by this inexcusable lapse in judgment, knowing the damage Kohrs has likely done.
This entire grand jury has been tainted, turned upside down in a media circus. The entire proceedings have to be thrown out. And there could be criminal consequences for Ms. Kohrs.
