Reason why not to mix shingle sizes

This is proof of what happens when you try and mix a 37” English cut shingle with a currently available 39” shingle
Insurance companies will try to give a repair estimate/scope approval and if your contractor does not know any different then they will do it and this will happen, the sealant strips will not line up because you have to cut today’s available shingles down two ways to get them to fit in place .
Always make the insurance company do the right thing and replace entire elevations not handful of shingles.
