The full short film|interview made for the re-release of "The Birth of a Nation" in 1930. Walter Huston discusses the controversial film with the director, D.W. Griffith. Shot as a publicity stunt for the 1930 sound reissue of Birth Of A Nation, this rare interview between D.W, Griffith and Walter Huston ( star of Abraham Lincoln and father of John Huston ), is a fascinating portrait of D.W. Griffith.

Now, the controversial element stems from Griffith’s most famous epic, the 1915 Civil War melodrama The Birth of a Nation are real. Accused of being racist and factually inaccurate, (and rightfully so) the first major United States of America made (three-hours) feature film was a phenomenal critical and box office success upon its release. Not only that, it helped to change the course of film history, as features became the norm for "high-end" screen entertainment.
