גורמים בדרום קוריאה אומרים כי ייתכן שחומרים רדיואקטיביים מאתר תת קרקעי לניסויים גרעיניים של צפון קוריאה, זיהמו את מי התהום באזור, וחוששים כעת שגם אזרחים בדרום קוריאה, יפן וסין השכנות עלולים להיות בסיכון.
צפון קוריאה הכחישה את הטענות והודיעה שאין דליפות של חומרים מזיקים בעקבות ניסויים גרעיניים שביצעה.
